'THE MAC' is back!!
A fair copy of the original MAC.
OK, this one is their newest release in .22 LR and a semi-auto firing from a closed bolt. You can even get the charging handle on the left hand side (instead of the top) and it will come with a scope mount on the top. This weapon also comes in 9mm and 45 acp. With a 30 round mag, this would be a fairly nice home piece. I sent them an email asking if they are considering making one in .40/.357 Sig (with a barrel swap) and I even volunteered to be a beta tester. https://www.masterpiecearms.com/products.php?cat=15 From Masterpiecearms.com and NO I don't work for them (yet anyway). Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
An interesting gun with an interesting history. The full auto ones had such a high cyclic rate. There are some good videos on Youtube that show a 30 round mag getting emptied almost instantly. 3 round bursts are quite difficult to achieve.
Good times. |

Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
Interesting history behind them also.
They were originally designed by Military Armaments Corp as a disposable one-time use weapon for special forces and covert operators. Turned out to be a great weapon for insurgents, Narcotico's and assassins everywhere. As stated before it has a BADASS cyclic rate. Especially in smaller caliber if my memory serves correctly. |
Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
As I recall they made a suppressed version in .380ACP, since .380 is already subsonic, and it wound up having a really high cyclic rate.

Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
1979 and 1980ish I used to frequent an indoor range called G.A.T guns. when they were in Hanover park Illinois the owner had a number of full auto weapons that he would let you shoot. All you had to do was buy the ammo from his store, no other fees aside from the normal range fee. He had a MAC 10 and a MAC 11. I shot them both quite a bit on numerous visits. Still one of my fondest memories from days gone by. The little 380 was the shyt.
He moved his range to another town and is one of the biggest gun stores in Northern Illinois, but no full auto weapons any more. |

Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
return of the Mack.... oh no!
Never shot one that didn't have some kind of feed issue. |
Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
Hate to burst your bubble, BUT... the Masterpiece Arms guns are NOT automatic... strictly semi, though with 30 round magazines.
But here's the GOOD NEWS: Masterpiece used to have a shaky reputation because of quality control and such. It seems these recent years they got their act together. Their MPA's have gotten very favorable reviews in various gun magazines and gun forums. If I had the money to spare, I'd pick one up... would make a great suppressor platform, AND... there ARE youtube videos of people bump-firing the MPA's! |
Re: 'THE MAC' is back!!
US,
Missed this, did we? OK, this one is their newest release in .22 LR and a semi-auto firing from a closed bolt. The originals WERE full auto. But you are correct, MA is only selling semi-auto's. |
